If physiotherapists are treating women and people who breastfeed, it is important to understand the anatomy and physiology of the breast, the related conditions that can arise while breastfeeding, and how the behaviours of both mother and infant can impact these conditions. In this course you will also learn infant orofacial anatomy, torticollis, suck mechanics, and reflexes. Physiotherapists and other allied professionals can play a valuable role in the assessment and treatment of these conditions.
This course is open to professionals outside of physical therapy, you can apply what you learn within the scope of practice of your profession.
